Lee Richardson Zoo will offer its special blend of "Zoo Doo" compost for sale by the scoop, bag or bucket from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday south of the zoo on Finnup Drive.

The compost, a mixture of exotic animal manure, food waste and bedding, is processed by the zoo's maintenance division into a high-quality soil amendment.

It will be sold bagged in compostable bags, or by the "Bobcat" scoop in your truck or trailer. You can bring a 5-gallon or smaller bucket to fill for $1. Bags are $5 (for 45 pounds). A scoop is $25.

Volunteers will be on hand to help with loading.

Compost also can be purchased during the week by special appointment by calling the zoo at 276-1250.
