Ashley Wagner, 21, far right, is a Kansas State University student and former Wichita County High School graduate who took part in the fifth annual Miss Wheelchair Kansas, aimed at selecting a woman to serve as an advocate for people with disabilities. Wagner lost to Marie Clement, center, Mayetta, during the March 15 pageant in Topeka. Cherie Armstrong, a third contestant from Edwardsville, is pictured to the far left.

Former contestants are allowed to compete again, said Carrie Greenwood, a pageant coordinator.
