TODAY, FEB. 4

Bag-of-Books Sale: The Friends of the Library's annual sale will feature books and assorted items at $4 per bag, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Hutchison Room of the Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut St.

"Sweet Indulgence": Benefit for Spirit of the Plains, CASA in the ballroom and pool area at the Clarion Inn, 1911 E. Kansas Ave., featuring a silent auction at 6:30 p.m., a live auction at 7 p.m., live entertainment by "Ask Vinnie," hors d'oeuvres and a chocolate foundation. Casual dress. Tickets are $25 per person in advance or $30 at the door.

TUESDAY, FEB. 7

Musical program: Featuring "The Half Fast Singers," 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. The public is encouraged to attend at no charge. For more information, call 275-5036.

Brown Bag Series: "Garden City Cattlemen's Carnival," presented by Stephanie Coleman, noon to 1 p.m. in the meeting room of the Finney County Historical Museum, 403 S. Fourth St., tracing the history of the carnival and how this rodeo blossomed into Beef Empire Days in later years. For more information, call 272-3664.

FRIDAY, FEB. 10

Dance: Featuring "The Blue Notes," 7:30 p.m. at the senior center in Scott City. Open to the public.

SATURDAY, FEB. 11

Pizza and Movie Night: Featuring "The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry," 6:30 p.m. at Church of the Brethren, 505 N. Eighth St. The movie, popcorn and beverages are free; donations will be taken for the pizza.

Health Department

Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.

Ambassador Singers: 1 p.m. Thursday.

STEPS: 10 a.m. Friday.

Craft Shop check-in/out: 10 a.m. Friday.

Bridge: 12:45 p.m. Friday.
