Musical variety program: Featuring the music group "Too Many Strings," 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. The public is encouraged to attend at no charge. For more information, call 275-5036.

ARTful Afternoons: Drop in and create art from 4 to 5 p.m. at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St. There is no fee for the class. Space is limited to 20 people and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.


Walls & Halls art program: Available to students in fourth through 12th grade. This session's project is "Bead Bonanza," 4 to 5 p.m. at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St. Fee is $10 for non-members; $5 for members. Registration required, with 11 seats available. Scholarships are available.


ARTdays: Open to students in first through sixth grades, with lunch and snack provided at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St. Fee is $25 for non-members; $20 for members. Registration required, with six seats available. Scholarships available on request.


N.E.W. (Never Ending Workshop): Open to children age 3 to 6, with this session's project being "Paper Bag Paintings," 2 to 3 p.m. at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St. (bring a smock). Fee is $3 for non-members; $2 for members. A parent will need to stay with their child. Space is limited to six children, and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.


Classic Gospel Sing-along: Open to all area musicians and the general public, 4 p.m. at Heaven Bound Cowboy Church, 1202 S. Second in Dodge City. For more information, call (620) 846-7046.



Finney County Genealogical Society: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Kansas Room at the Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut St. Visitors welcome.

Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
