Wedding: Bauer-Sowers

Jill Bauer and Wade Sowers, both of Garden City, were married May 1, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City. The 5:30 p.m., double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Lyle Stuehrenberg.

The bride's parents are Chris and Joan Bauer of Enid, Okla. Her grandparents are Arlyn and Nadine Bauer of Ponca City, Okla.; and the late Paul and Twila Holthaus.

Parents of the groom are Randy and Teresa Sowers of Scott City. He is the grandson of the late Ellis and Nellie Sowers; and the late Howard and Dorthy Wells.

Maid of honor was Sally Bauer of Enid. Bridesmaid was Kelli Sowers of Garden City.

Justin Sowers of Olathe was the best man. Escort was C.J. Hartley of Wamego.

Maddy Schreibvogel of Lakin was the flower girl. Dillon Hartley of Wamego was the ringbearer.

Serving as ushers were Ryan Schreibvogel of Lakin; and Brian Allen of Dodge City.

Heidi Berg of Garden City was the organist. Music selections included "From This Moment On."

The ceremony was followed by a reception, given by the bride's parents, at St. Dominic Parish Center.

The bride graduated from Enid High School in 2000, from Oklahoma State University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and from Fort Hays State University in 2009 with a master's degree in elementary education. She is employed as an elementary teacher.

The groom graduated from Scott County Community High School in 1997. He works at Wells Sowers Hay Grinding.

After a wedding trip to North and South Carolina, the newlyweds are at home in Garden City.
