Claire Elizabeth Dunford and Daniel John Shaver, both of Kansas City, Mo., were married April 27, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo. The 1:30 p.m., double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Father Thomas Curren.

The bride's parents are Lynn and Gail Dunford of Garden City. Her grandparents are Norma Storms and the late James Storms of Winner, S.D.; and the late LaFon and Mary Dunford of Forsyth, Mo.

The groom's parents are Ed and Marilyn Shaver of St. Louis, Mo. His grandparents are Evelyn Shaver and the late Ronald Shaver, and Dorothy Boehm and the late Milton Boehm, all of St. Louis.

Maid of honor was Dr. Gretchen Dunford, the bride's sister from Sterling Heights, Mich. Bridesmaids were Samantha Greer and Sarah Adams, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and Rachel Hutsell of Springfield, Mo.

Best man was Christopher Shaver, the groom's brother from St. Louis. Groomsmen were Kevin Becvar of St. Louis; and Joshua Hollis and Sean Adams, both of Kansas City, Mo.

Guest book attendant was Natalee Long, the bride's cousin from Hollister, Mo. Greeters were Allison Rogowski of Chicago; and Jon Bell of St. Louis.

Scripture readers were Whitney Beaton of Columbia, Mo.; and Patricia Rocchio, the groom's aunt and godmother from St. Louis.

The bride's personal attendant was her cousin, Victoria Hutsell of Ozark, Mo.

Serving as ushers were Brian Shaver, the groom's brother from St. Louis; Bryan Jackson of Mission; and Brian Roewe of Kansas City, Mo.

Organist was Maureen Henderson of Lenexa. Soloist was Elizabeth Zerkel of St. Louis. Trumpeter was Phil Holmes of Kansas City, Mo. Music selections included "How Beautiful" by Twila Parks and "The Servant Song" by Richard Gilliard.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at The Hilton President Hotel, Kansas City, Mo.

The bride graduated from Garden City High School in 2005 and from Rockhurst University, earning a bachelor's degree in 2009 and a master's degree in 2011. She is a speech language pathologist at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab Facility in Richmond, Mo.

The groom graduated from St. Louis University High School in 2006 and from Rockhurst University with bachelor's degrees in 2010. He is a Math Department chair and teacher at Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kan., and also serves as head varsity soccer coach at the school.

After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the newlyweds are at home in North Kansas City, Mo.
