Andrea Ann Nichols, of Kansas City, Mo., and Ryan Eric Harfst, of Liberty, Mo., were married Sept. 12, 2009, at Jacob Loose Memorial Park in Kansas City, Mo. The 5:30 p.m., double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Mike Lassiter, pastor of Second Baptist Church in Liberty.The bride is the daughter of Chet and Connie Nichols of Garden City, and the granddaughter of Woodrow Peters of Garden City.
The groom is the son of Bob and Kay Harfst of Villa Ridge, Mo., and the grandson of Truelah Crider of Ellisville, Mo.
Matron of honor was Jennifer Barret of Garden City. Bridesmaids were Lee Steigemeier of Overland Park, Sara Kindler of Gardner, and Nelda Nichols and Tresia Crawford, both of Garden City.
Best man was Paul Compton of Houston. Groomsmen were Tyler Whetstine of Prairie Village, Rick Harfst of House Springs, Mo., Rob Harfst of Pacific, Mo., and Randy Harfst of Cuba, Mo.
Flower girl was Makayla Harfst, and ringbearer was Bryce Harfst, both of Cuba, Mo.
Music selections included J.S. Bach's "Arioso," "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and "Ode to Joy," Pachelbel's "Canon in D" and the traditional Christian hymn "Be Thou My Vision."
A reception followed at The Terrace on Grand in downtown Kansas City, Mo.
The bride graduated from Garden City High School in 1998 and from the University of Kansas in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She is employed as an implementation architect for the Cerner Corp., Kansas City, Mo.
The groom graduated from Pacific (Mo.) High School in 1998 and from William Jewell College in Liberty in 2002 with bachelor's degrees in economics and in business administration. He is an engagement leader for the Cerner Corp., Kansas City, Mo.
After a wedding trip to Kauai and Maui, Hawaii, the newlyweds are at home in Liberty.
