Three area residents were stabbed in an alleged domestic dispute early Tuesday morning, according to the Finney County Sheriff's Office.

Dickie Montoya, 37, 208 S. Lynch St., and Mathew Viera, 16, of the same Holcomb address, were treated and released for stab wounds at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine Hospital, said Sheriff Kevin Bascue. A third Garden City man, Simon Rosas, 24, 212 Davis, Apt. 7, also was treated at about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday for stab wounds, Bascue said.

Bascue said preliminary investigation reveals that Montoya allegedly became involved in a domestic argument with his wife at about 2 a.m. at their home. Viera, Montoya's stepson, allegedly began fighting Montoya as a result of the argument. Rosas, who was reportedly present at the time of the fight, tried to stop the fight and was allegedly stabbed by Montoya in the process, Bascue said. Bascue said deputies believe Montoya and Viera stabbed each other during the fight. It is unknown at this time if the stab wounds were caused by separate knives or the same knife, Bascue said.

Sheriff's officials arrested Viera at Youth Services, 907 Zerr Road, and took him to the Southwest Regional Detention Center at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday on allegations of aggravated battery and felony obstruction.

As of Wednesday morning, Montoya had not been arrested, and Bascue said the incidents still are under investigation. Montoya remains hospitalized at St. Catherine.
