Garden City Community College will host a public reception from 4 to 6

p.m. Friday in the Mercer Gallery, in the west wing of the Pauline

Joyce Fine Arts Building for the annual student exhibition, which

features works by more than 30 GCCC students.

The art show, which opens Friday and runs through May 22, features

shapes and images completed by GCCC art scholarship recipients and


The artists include Frankie Burns, Lakin; Linda Humphreys, Harley

Torres, Leif Elliot, Krista Smith and Xavier Rodriguez, all of Ulysses;

Ashlee Larrick and Marissa Trevino, Holcomb; Josh Kelley, Elkhart; and

Lisa Garcia, Burlington, Colo. Artists from Garden City are Hannah and

Tristan Lindo, James Sanchez, Ariana Wheet, Jesus Lazoya, Andres De

Leon, Daniel Ochoa, Amanda Rivera, Joelle Karma, Naelli Chanocua, Erik

Martinez, Laura Fry, Sylvester Rodriguez, Alajadra Puentes and Gary


Mercer Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free.
