The superintendent of Stanton County USD 452 has been suspended with pay.
The Stanton County USD 452 Board of Education on Monday night voted 6-1 to suspend Superintendent Susan Scherling.
Board members Dan Kullot, Daren Ruth, Heather Waldron, Jason Davidson, Jerrod Daniels and Robert Seger voted in favor, and Jim Cartwright voted against.
A call placed to Scherling was not returned on Wednesday morning.
Board Clerk Jean Malone said she did not want to comment on when the issue might be resolved, why the suspension was made and if the board expects to take any further action.
Scherling was hired at Stanton County USD 452 in July 2006. Previously, she worked as the superintendent at Sharon Springs.
Johnson City, located in Stanton County, has about 450 students in grades pre-kindergarden through high school.
Calls to Kullot, Cartwright, Ruth, Waldron, Daniels and Seger were not returned this morning. Davidson's phone number is unlisted.
