Senior center pitch

Pat Bird won high in the three tables of senior center pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Donna Preston took second place. Third went to Juanita Crotty.

Senior center double pinochle

Charles Maxfield won high in the four tables of senior center double pinochle played Monday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Second place went to Mary Ann Binns. Stipp Rapp took third.

Duplicate bridge

The Garden City Duplicate Bridge Club had just five pairs competing Sunday in a regular 25-board Howell movement. Games totaled 19 and one of two slams succeeded. Helen Lee and Virginia Enslow took first place by a half-point over Orlene Crawford and Fonda Sullivan.

The game Monday evening expanded to 4 1/2 tables playing 27 boards. Everyone seemed in the mood for bidding slams and out of 13, five did succeed, followed by 20 suit games and 12 in no-trump. Jerry Soldner and Gerry Schultz carried first place with a 57 percent game. Helen Lee and Linda Adams held second with a 55 percent game. Two points back were Pat Barber and Faye Anderson in third, by a half-point over fourth place Wen Wurst and Jon Craig.

Tuesday's game was tightly competitive in the middle group while 20 games and one grand slam were bid and made. Ron Patrick and Irene Bryant were first with a 62 percent game while Carolee Jehlik and Crawford held second.

Regular games begin at 7 p.m. Monday, 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St., with all bridge players welcome. For partners, call Jon Kempton at 276-2876.
