Sheila Schwartz

MCPHERSON — Sheila S. Schwartz, 59, McPherson, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 18, 1953, in Wichita, to Edwin R. and Barbara A. (Miller) Engle. She graduated from high school in 1971 at Olpe.

She married Steven A. Schwartz on Dec. 29, 1973, in Garden City.

A homemaker, she had been a McPherson resident since 1989, moving from Garden City.

Mrs. Schwartz volunteered many years in the Garden City public school system, and also started a quilting guild in Garden City.

Family members include: her husband; a son, Troy Schwartz of McPherson; her mother and step-father, Barbara and Floyd Hagins of Cottonwood Fall; a brother, Eddie Engle and wife Chris of Reese; two sisters, Terry Miller and her late husband Bill of Emporia and Cheryl Stegman and husband Mike of Garden City; two grandchildren, Birkley Schwartz of Lincoln and Gabriel Schwartz of McPherson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Engle.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Brian Perry officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorial donations may be given to the Schwartz Grandchildren's Education Fund in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.

My condolences

Steve and family-my sincere condolences during these difficult times of Shelia's passing. I wish I had the words that would heal all, but peace and serinity will come all in God's time. Please know that your friends support you and pray for you all.
