Senior center pitch

Juanita Crotty won high in the three tables of senior center pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Elvin Hazen took second place. Floyd Horn and Donna Preston tied for third.

Phi Sigma Alpha

Phi Sigma Alpha sorority met Feb. 13 at the home of Carlene Schweer, with Sandy Rodgers as co-hostess. The evening began with a Valentine meal. The show choir quartet from Garden City High School sang three songs: "Brown Eyed Girl," "I Wonder Why" and "Good Night Ladies."

For roll call, 10 members and one guest answered by telling what their first Valentine gift was.

MaNon Evans discussed the gifting done at each meeting. It was decided that gifts will only be given at birthdays, Christmas and at reveal time. At other meeting times, money will be collected as each member deems fit to give and provided to an organization chosen by that month's host.

Rodgers read devotions titled "Evelyn, A Portrait of Love" by Barbara Sims. The minutes of Jan. 9 were approved as reported. Exchange of secret sister gifts concluded the evening.

The next meeting will be at the home of Ellen Eichhorn with Marilyn Wadel as co-hostess.

Senior center double pinochle

Mary Ann Binns won high in the three tables of senior center double pinochle played Feb. 17 at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Second place went to Maybelle Bowen. Bob Ellis placed third.

Ruth Dunlap won high in the two tables of senior center pinochle played Wednesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Bob Baker took second place. Third went to Donna Preston.
