Loewen to celebrate 90th

The family of Clara Loewen has planned a come-and-go open house reception and card shower for Clara, a resident of Bethel Home in Montezuma. She would appreciate welcoming family and friends as she celebrates 90 years of life.

Clara and her late husband, Rudolph, were former residents of Garden City.

The 90th birthday celebration will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Oasis Room at Bethel Home.

Clara also would enjoy receiving cards as she looks forward to her mail each day. They may be sent to: Clara Loewen, Bethel Home Inc., 300 S. Aztec, Montezuma, KS 67867.

Friesen celebrates 95th

Ruth Friesen celebrated her 95th birthday with a reception of friends and family on Nov. 10, 2012.

Ruth lives at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

Her children and families in attendance were Ramona Karber of Enid, Okla.; Wes and Arlene Friesen of Sun Valley, Nev.; Gil and Rhoda Friesen of Denver; Edna and Roger Janzen of Independence; Roger Friesen of Spirit Lake, Idaho; Monty and Sharon Friesen of Lucas, Texas; Randy Friesen of Great Bend; and her grandson, Keith Karber of Enid.

Senior center pinochle

Jeanette Taylor won high in the three tables of senior center pinochle played Wednesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Jerry Wallace took second place. Third went to Carol Bradfield.
