Senior center pinochle

Neva Maxfield won high in the four tables of senior center pinochle played Wednesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Bob Baker took second place. Third went to Bob Ellis.

Sherlock Strivers 4-H

Sherlock Strivers 4-H Club met Oct. 6 at Holcomb Elementary School with 19 members and 13 adults present. President Ashley Mongeau welcomed four new members to the club.

The promotions committee reported that the radio announcements had been submitted to the club, pencils were handed out at the Holcomb homecoming parade and they will display fair projects at Holcomb Elementary School.

Food was collected for the Emmaus House and birthdays were celebrated. Kaitlynn Hammond led a cooking meeting by teaching members how to make a banana split. Members were encouraged to donate candy and participate at Boo! at the Zoo.

The meeting concluded with the induction of new officers to the club: President, Ashley Mongeau; Vice Presidents, Reece Meng and Kyle Hammond; Secretary, Grace Roth; Treasurer, Tanner Mongeau; Historians, Paige Jones and Adison George; Reporter, Lauren Jones; Parliamentarian, Kaitlynn Hammond.

The next meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 at Holcomb Elementary School.
