Piano recital Sunday

The Garden City Piano Teachers' League presents students of Connie Loewen and Tammy Bunney in a piano recital at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St.

Students are: Landon Garcia, Damien Loewen, Jentry Foskuhl, Ileana Neufeld, Rhianna Loewen, Elena Neufeld, Shonsee Loewen, Jace Kohlhorst, Makenzie Lucas, Sydney Nanninga, Allie Strandmark, Adi George, Kaety Kohlhorst and Sarah Brandt.

Pinochle winners

Bob Baker and Mary Joseph tied for high in the two tables of double pinochle played Monday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Charlotte Kimsey took second place. Carol Bradford and Mary Ann Binns tied for third.

Finney Fliers 4-H

The Finney Fliers 4-H Club met Jan. 5 at the Finney County 4-H Building, with 11 members, two leaders, 10 parents and three guests answering roll call by telling what they got for Christmas.

Carrie Hall gave the secretary's report, and Tony Solorzano gave the treasurer's report. Connie Gross gave the leader's report and encouraged members to participate in 4-H club days.

Alex Solorzano led "The Candy Ball Game" for recreation. Jesse Solorzano led the singing of "Wildcat Victory."

Tony Solorzano gave a presentation on volcanoes. Christy Hall gave a presentation on how to make the "Perfect Project Talk."

The next meeting will begin at 3 p.m. Feb. 2 at the 4-H building.

Senior center pitch

Donna Preston won high in the three tables of senior center pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Second place went to Leonard Yardley. Elvin Hazen took third.
