LEOTI — Ramon Holguin-Gonzalez, 55, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, near Leoti as the result of a traffic accident. He was born Feb. 9, 1959, in San Francisco de Conchos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Conrado and Perfecta Gonzalez Holguin.

LEOTI — Ramon Holguin-Gonzalez, 55, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, near Leoti as the result of a traffic accident. He was born Feb. 9, 1959, in San Francisco de Conchos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Conrado and Perfecta Gonzalez Holguin.

A resident of Leoti since moving from Colorado in 1989, Holguin-Gonzalez was a farmer and stockman.

He married Elodia Carrasco on June 3, 1985, at Lamar, Colo.

Survivors include his wife, of Leoti; four children, Evangelina Holguin, Julyssiana Sillas, Jesus Ramon Holguin, and Jose Manuel Holguin, all of Leoti; eight siblings, Maria Lydia Holguin, Javier Holguin and Francisco Holguin, all of Rancho El Molino, Chihuahua, Mexico; Maria Holguin-Brown of Alabama; Gloria Holguin of Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; Santos Holguin of Little Rock, Ark.; Manuel Holguin of Leoti; and Luis Roberto Holguin of Garden City; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Evangelina Holguin Gonzalez and Berta Holguin-Gonzalez; two brothers, Natalio Holguin-Gonzalez and Zeferino Holguin-Gonzalez; and a grandson, Isaac Cristoval Holguin.

Vigil services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti with a funeral mass immediately following. Burial will be at a later date in Mexico.

Memorials are suggested to the Ramon Holguin-Gonzalez Memorial fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home in Leoti.
