Syracuse sweeps past Greeley County

Syracuse boys 55, Greeley Co. 46

At Tribune, the Syracuse Bulldogs boys basketball captured a non-league contest with a 55-47 victory over the host Jackrabbits on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs got balanced scoring to pick up the victory, as Chase Keller and Tierney DeWitt scored 14 points each while Dexter English added 11.

The Bulldogs led 18-13 after one quarter, 35-25 at halftime and 45-33 at the end of three periods.

Martin Veleta had a game-high 17 points to pace Greeley County.

Syracuse girls 45, Greeley Co. 20

At Tribune, the Syracuse Lady Bulldogs used the 3-point shooting of Amy Norton to roll by the Lady Jackrabbits of Greeley County 45-20 on Thursday.

Norton hit four 3-pointers en route to a 15-point scoring night. She was the lone double-figure scorer in the game.

Syracuse held Greeley County scorelessin the first quarter to take an 11-0 lead. It was 22-7 at halftime and 43-14 after three quarters.

Cassidy Hild led Greeley County with six points.
