DIGHTON — Nellie Smith, 90, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Lane County Long Term Care in Dighton.She was born Oct. 24, 1922, at Langdon to Thomas C. and Julie Mae Hobbs.
On July 25, 1942, in Scott City, she married Hurley W. Smith. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Plains High School. In 1968 she and her husband purchased the butcher shop in Dighton and named it Smith's Frozen Foods.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Arah Knight; a grandson, and three brothers, Millard Hobbs, Clayton Hobbs and Thomas Hobbs; and two sisters, Elgeva Ediger and Virginia Habiger.
Survivors include a son, Hurley T. Smith of Dighton; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
