LAKIN — Bernice Ann Singleton, 75, of Hays, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 in McAllen, Texas.
She was born Oct. 29, 1937 in Lyons to Wesley and Mildred Miller Bernstorf.
She married Kenneth Singleton on Jan. 24, 1959, at Salem United Methodist Church near Bushton. He survives.
Singleton was a business teacher in Lakin before retirement in 1996.
Other survivors include a son, Scott Singleton of Wichita; two daughters, Susan High of Wichita and Lisa Reed of Hays; a sister, Adele Pulliam of Wichita; a granddaughter; two stepgranddaughters; and a stepgreat-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant grandson, Marcus Reed.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Westview Church in Hays. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Cancer Council of Ellis County or the American Diabetes Juvenile Support Group.
