Palmer Ridge, Colo., 52, Hugoton 36

In the semifinals of the Orange and Black Classic at Colby, the Lady Bears from Palmer Ridge, Colo., defeated the Hugoton Lady Eagles, 52-36, behind the scoring of Ali Meyer who had a game high 14 points.

The Lady Bears had a comfortable lead at halftime, 25-14, and they still hung on to win even with a strong fourth period by the Lady Eagles in which they scored 27 points.

The leading scorers for the Lady Eagles were Amy Scott and Katy Heger, who both had 11 points.

Scott City 58, Sunrise Christian 29

In the consolation rounds of the Orange and Black Classic at Colby, the Scott City Lady Beavers defeated the Sunrise Christian Lady Buffaloes, 58-29, with the help of Bailey Nickel, the games leading scorer, who had 28 points.

The Lady Beavers held a comfortable lead at half, 30-21, then followed that with a strong defensive showing in the second half, when they held the Lady Buffaloes to 8 points.

The leading scorer for the Lady Buffaloes was Ciara Johansen, who had 12 points.

Stanton Co. 32, Sublette 30

In the consolation round of the Hi-Plains League tournament, the Stanton County Lady Indians gained a narrow victory over the Sublette Lady Larks, 32-30.

The Lady Trojans won with the help of the game's leading scorers in Jenna Black and Rakeel Moore, who had 11 points.

The Lady Trojans were down at half 15-13 but were able to tie up the game at 21 at the end of the third period before eventually sealing the win.

The leading scorer for the Lady Larks was Payton Whaler, who had 8 points.

NW Kansas League

Dighton 50, Trego Comm. 20

At the Northwest Kansas League tournament in Oberlin, the Dighton girls moved on to tonight's finals with a resounding 50-20 win over Trego Community of WaKeeney.

Dighton took a 13-6 first-quarter lead and extended it to 27-12 at the half. They then dominated in the third 15-2 to put the game away.

Leslie Speer led Dighton with 26 points, including nine field goals and 8-for-8 shooting at the free throw line. Ten other Lady Hornets scored.

Dighton (10-1) will face Hoxie in the title game, scheduled for 6 p.m.

South Central 56, South Gray 35

At Montezuma, Kilee Harris scored 21 points to lead the South Central Lady Timberwolves to victory over the South Gray Lady Rebels, 56-35.

The Lady Timberwolves and the Lady Rebels both came out swinging in the first quarter which ended with a 17-15 score in favor of the Lady Timberwolves.

The Lady Rebels' offense then slowed down substantially for the next three quarters of the game.

The Lady Rebels only had one of their seven scoring players shoot for over 10 points. Meanwhile, the Lady Timberwolves had three of their six scorers put up more than 10.
