Try hockey free event set for Sunday in Dodge

The High Plains Youth Hockey Association is sponsoring a Try Hockey for Free Day on Sunday at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City.

The event will begin at noon with open skating scheduled after the hockey demonstration.

The Western Kansas Outlaws Hockey Club is participating in the demonstration for youth ages four to 13.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of ice hockey during the demonstration. Each childe will be outfitted at the event with necessary safety equipment and skates at no charge. Prior to the instructional component of the day's activities, the Western Kansas Edge will play the Wichita Fire Department Flying Monkeys.
