Louis Davidson Parkinson

SCOTT CITY — Louis Davidson (L.D.) Parkinson, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at his home in Scott City.

He was born Nov. 29, 1920, to Henry G. and Hannah A. Parkinson in Rexburg, Idaho.

On Nov. 3, 1945, he married Louise V. Heyne in Tacloban Bay, Philippines.

Mr. Parkinson was a naval officer who served in World War II.

He was a farmer and stockman in the Scott City area, raising dry land and irrigated crops, as well as hogs, cattle, and horses.

He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Parkinson.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Vicki Burr and Beth Tuck, both of Scott City, and Anne Marchin of Manhattan; two sons, Louis "Bo" and Daniel Parkinson, both of Scott City; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held at 2 p.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
