Officials are reporting minor damage from a tornado that touched down near Garden City Wednesday night.
The tornado touched down southwest of Garden City at about 7 p.m. and moved south
south-east into northern Haskell county, officials from the Dodge City National Weather Service said.
Buildings including a barn and mill house belonging to Plymell Dairy sustained structural damage from the tornado's wind speeds, and power line poles along U.S. Highway 83 also were hit, some of which have been snapped, said Finney County Emergency Management Coordinator Cathy Hernandez.
Emergency responders also received reports of a couple of flipped over center
pivot irrigation systems in fields about nine miles south of Garden City, Hernandez said.
Estimated wind speeds of the tornado will not be available until Thursday,
weather officials said.

I was driving when I heared the sirens went off and looked for shelter immediately. Good job GC Management. Thank you
