A Garden City man has been arrested on allegations of kidnapping, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, interference with a law enforcement officer and battery.
Gerardo Gonzales, 25, 509 E. Santa Fe St., was arrested at 11 a.m. Monday at the Law Enforcement Center, 304 N. Ninth St., by Finney County Sheriff's deputies, who executed an arrest warrant issued by the Garden City Police Department.
According to Garden City police Sgt. Michael Reagle, the arrest was on a warrant for two separate cases.
"The first occurred on Nov. 15, 2012, when we were dispatched to a residence in the southwest part of town for a disturbance," Reagle said in an email to The Telegram. "Through the investigation, it is alleged that Gonzales was involved in an argument with a 15-year-old¬ Garden City girl, when he battered her and drug her from one room to another to prevent her from leaving the residence.¬ He also resisted arrest."
Reagle said that during the investigation, officers also learned that Gonzales allegedly had sex with the same girl on multiple occasions at the same residence.¬
"The indecent liberties with a child charge is unrelated to the battery/kidnapping incident, other than the same people involved," Reagle said. "The indecent liberties case was just discovered during the battery/kidnapping investigation and occurred at other times."
Gonzales is being lodged in the Finney County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
