ULYSSES — Joan Louise Richter, 44, Ulysses, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital in Ulysses.

ULYSSES — Joan Louise Richter, 44, Ulysses, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born June 20, 1969, in Ulysses to Ewing Eugene and Carol Louise Walker Lyle.

She married Ralph F. Richter on April 5, 2008, in Ulysses.

Survivors include her husband of Ulysses; four sons, Adam Richter of Loveland, Colo., Josh Richter of Holcomb, Blake Richter of Ulysses, and Burke Garcia of Ulysses, Kan.; three daughters, Andrea Richter of Holcomb, Winterr Maturey of Ulysses, and Kelley Garcia of Ulysses; two brothers, Daniel Lyle of Ulysses and Kevin Lyle of Roy, Wash; two sisters, Penny Pucket of Ulysses and Lyn Day of Liberal; her stepmother, Pennie Lyle of McCook, Neb.; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

In lieu of flowers, the Joan Richter Memorial Fund has been established at the Bank of Ulysses. Memorials may be mailed to Grant County Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St. Ulysses, KS 67880.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Ulysses.

There will be a private burial at Ulysses Cemetery at a later date.
