G.C. man arrested on allegation of indecent liberties

A Garden City man is in custody on an allegation of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

John Hindman, 27, 818 Summit St., was arrested on the count at 2:59 p.m. Tuesday at the Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut St. Police said that on Monday they were notified by Kearny County officials about a 15-year-old girl who had returned home after being reported as a runaway. Officials learned that the girl allegedly had sexual contact with Hindman at his residence during the time she was reported as a runaway. Police made the arrest after following up on the allegation.

Hindman was being held in the Finney County Jail without bond as of Wednesday.
