Army Pvt. Logan T. Fears has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

Army Pvt. Logan T. Fears has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

He is the son of Larry Fears of Garden City and the grandson of Robert Cooley, also of Garden City.

Fears is a 2010 graduate of Garden City High School.

During the nine weeks of training, Fears studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, and armed and unarmed combat. Instruction also was given in map reading, field tactics and other topics.

Fears is a 2010 graduate of Garden City High School.
