Historial Society elects 2014 board members

The Finney County Historical Society elected four new and eight returning members to the Board of Directors during the organization's 2014 annual meeting and banquet April 26.

The Finney County Historical Society elected four new and eight returning members to the Board of Directors during the organization's 2014 annual meeting and banquet April 26.

Rosemary Corbett, Mary Eves, Mike Guadian, Jr., and Peggy Dreiling, all of Garden City, were elected to their first terms on the board. Returning members include Keith Downer, Barbara Goss, Robert Jones, Tom Klassen, Dennis Kleysteuber, Pat Stockham, Rhonda Stone and Tim Sturdevant, all of Garden City. Retiring board members include Loretta De La Rosa, Deb Jarmer and Itzel Rodriguez.

The nonprofit society, which operates the Finney County Historical Museum, is governed by a 22-person board. Members serve two-year terms, with half of the terms expiring each year.

Other board members include Carla Algrim, Bryce Baker, Joe Burnside, Mary Cervantes, Barbara Hauschild, Ray Heinemann, Richard Henkle, Bill Stephens, Beth Tedrow and Pat Veesart. The board will elect new officers in May.
