DODGE CITY — Cargill announced Tuesday it is investing $48 million in its Dodge City beef packing plant for a new automated order distribution system.
The system, capable of holding approximately 155,000 boxes of beef, will be housed in a new 62,000-square-foot building specifically constructed for the purpose.
Construction will begin in the fourth quarter of 2013, with the system scheduled to be operational by spring 2015.
