Stanton County, Lakin rebound with wins

Stanton County 46, Sublette 6

At Sublette, the Stanton County Trojans bounced back from their first loss to put a pounding on Sublette in a 46-6 win over the Larks on Friday.

Quinn Kendrick and Marques Logan again did damage for Stanton County, as Kendrick rushed for three touchdowns while Logan had 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Raul Pantoja also had touchdown run in the fourth quarter to cap off Stanton County's scoring.

Sublette's only score came in a third quarter on a 56 yard fumble recovery by Eric Miller.

Ellinwood 6

At Lakin, the Broncs were coming off a big loss in the Texas Panhandle, but rebounded against the visiting Eagles for a 70-6 steamrolling of Ellinwood on Friday.

Lakin did most of its damage on the ground, as the Broncs rushed for 357 yards as a team. Gage Mcatee and Kevin Dasenbrock each ran for three touchdowns to lead Lakin in scoring. Pedro Chavez had two more touchdown runs for the Broncs while Michael Baxley chipped in another. Caleb Seeger also passed a touchdown to Ty Adams late in the second quarter.

Ellinwood's lone score came on a 32-yard run by Patrick Ringering in the second quarter.

Lakin moves to 4-2 on the season, and the Broncs begin 3A district play next week when they host Cimarron.

Cimarron 32, Elkhart 26

At Cimarron, the Bluejays came back from a fourth quarter deficit and got a hard-earned win against visiting Elkhart 32-26 on Friday night.

Ty Clark helped Cimarron's fourth-quarter comeback as he ran in two touchdowns in that quarter in addition to another touchdown run and interception return in the second quarter to lead the Bluejays' offense. The Cimarron defense also held together with two safeties in the fourth quarter to swing momentum in its favor.

Alex Gomez paced Elkhart early with two touchdown passes in the second quarter to Justin Hurn. Nick Lewis and Jordan Forbit each had a rushing touchdown in the third quarter for the Wildcats.

With the late win, Cimarron moves to 5-1 and begins district play next Friday on the road against Lakin. Elkhart drops to 4-2 on the season.

At Meade, the Buffaloes ran for nine touchdowns as a team in addition to 462 yards on the ground to get the easy win over visiting Syracuse 75-16 on Friday night.
