Two Tribune men were killed and a Tribune woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident early Thursday morning in Greeley County.

Christopher Jones, 25, was driving southbound on Road 17 in a Ford F-150 at about 2 a.m., when he went off the roadway to the left.

The vehicle then rotated clockwise 45 degrees, struck a power pole on the driver's side rear door, flipped approximately two times, and came to rest on the passenger side in a ditch, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Jones was flown to St. Catherine Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Another occupant of the vehicle, Matthew Bender, 27, was flown to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, where he later died of his injuries.

A third occupant, Christy Hopkins, 31, was taken to Greeley County Hospital with possible injuries. The hospital did not release Hopkins' condition.

None of the passengers were wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
