The Garden City High School boys' basketball Class 6A sub-state championship game, originally scheduled at 7 p.m. Saturday at The Garden, has been moved up one hour to tip-off at 6 p.m.

The announcement came early Friday from GCHS Athletic Director Martin Segovia. The earlier start time will allow the Wichita North basketball team and fans to return home earlier to Wichita as inclement weather may appear in western and central Kansas on Saturday.

North advanced to the title game with a 63-56 victory on Thursday night over Wichita South while the Buffs advanced on Wednesday with a 46-43 win over Wichita Northwest. The Buffs have a 13-8 season record while North is 11-10.

The winner will qualify for the Class 6A state tournament, which begins Wednesday at Koch Arena in Wichita. The Buffs made the state tournament in 2013, but were eliminated by Derby in the first round.
