GCHS Girls roll; Buffs' boys bounced at Hays

The Garden City High School basketball teams split Western Athletic Conference games on Friday night at Hays.

The Lady Buffs won with a strong second-half effort to defeat the Lady Indians, 49-31, while the boys were outscored 74-54 by the Indians.

The win improved the Lady Buffs to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in the WAC. The Buffs' boys are 7-3 and 2-2.

Next up for the Lady Buffs will be a Tuesday road game at Ulysses. The boys return to action on Thursday when they open play in the Valley Center January Jam at 5 p.m. against Junction City.
