GCCC to announce new soccer coach

Garden City Community College will introduce new women's soccer head coach Chuck Long at a press conference at 2 p.m. today the college announced on Tuesday.

Long will take over for 2013 interim coach Hector Martinez, who took over after previous head coach Ki Thornberry resigned just days before the season opener.

The Lady Broncbusters went 1-14 (1-11 in the KJCCC) this season, with the lone win coming in a forfeit by Cloud County on Sept. 14. The Lady Busters also won one game (1-15, 1-11) in 2012, Thornberry's second season. In Thornberry's first season, the Lady Busters went 6-11 and 5-7.
