Concerns about the weekend's weather resulted in rescheduling for the Garden City Community College baseball and softball teams.
The baseball team moved up its conference-opening series with Hutchinson. The Broncbusters were scheduled to play a doubleheader today at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., and another at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday. Originally, it was scheduled to be a Saturday-Sunday series.
Garden City is 4-9 entering the series. Hutchinson is 3-3 and 2-2 in Jayhawk West/Region VI West play.
The softball team's two series this weekend, against Western Nebraska and McCook (Neb.) were postponed. Originally, the Lady Busters were to play Saturday vs. McCook and Sunday vs. Western Nebraska in doubleheaders, but after temporarily moving the games to a Friday-Saturday schedule, they were ultimately cancelled.
The series vs. Western Nebraska is listed on the KJCCC website as cancelled, while the McCook series is to be rescheduled, though no dates have been decided.
The Busters are next scheduled to play at Barton at 3 p.m. on March 15 in a conference matchup. Garden City is 2-0 in KJCCC play after sweeping a doubleheader with Colby on Wednesday. Barton is 5-2 overall and yet to play any conference games.
