The Garden City Community College Lady Broncbusters scratched back from a double-digit second half deficit to Barton to pull within one with five minutes to play in the game.

But Zantaya Davis-Jackson was whistled for the foul on Barton's Taylor Mayes' lay up and then drew a technical immediately following as she protested the call. Barton's Mariana Lambert drained both technical free throws to put Barton back up by five and the Lady Cougars never looked back en route to the 80-62 win.

Barton was led by Lambert's 23 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while Shauqunna Collins had a team-high 17 points for the Busters.

The loss completes the first half of the KJCCC West schedule as the Busters will begin the back half at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when they host Hutchinson (20-3, 6-1) at the Perryman Athletic Complex.

Full story will be online at 6 a.m. Monday and in Monday's Telegram.
