Lady Busters get first conference win

Loysha Morris and Shauqunna Collins had 17 and 15 points, respectively, Saturday night in the Perryman Athletic Complex to lead the Garden City Lady Broncbusters to a 70-49 win over the visiting Colby Lady Trojans.

The Busters led from wire-to-wire, taking leads of 14-2 and 39-16 in the first half, and 58-25, their largest of the contest, early in the second to get back to .500 on the season and 9-9 and get their first KJCCC win of the season and are now 1-2. The struggling Lady Trojans fall to 2-17 and 0-3.

Morris was an efficient 4-of-7 shooting and 8 of 10 from the free-throw line in the win. Collins was 7 of 17 and 1-1 for her 15. Forward Sandra Davis was two rebounds away from a double-double with 12 points and eight boards.

The Trojans were led by Deandra Williams with 14 points.
