The Garden City Community College Lady Broncbusters were swept in a doubleheader at Clarendon, Texas, College on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Bulldogs knocked around Buster pitchers for 24 runs in the two-game non-conference set, winning the opener 13-6 and the nightcap 11-3.

The Busters drop to 8-9 overall, and return to conference play on Wednesday with a twinbill against Seward County at 3 and 5 p.m. at the Tangeman Sports Complex.

Game 1

Starter Alex Barleen could only get through one inning for the Busters as she gave up three runs on five hits, striking out none. Rachel Roe came in in relief, but it did not relieve the pressure the Lady Bulldogs' bats caused, as Roe gave up 10 runs — only three earned — in five innings as the Busters lost 13-6.

The top five in the lineup did most of the damage, going 11 for 21 with nine RBIs. Lauren Shanks had a pair of RBIs for the Busters on 1-of-3 hitting.

Gabby Gloria picked up the win despite tossing only two and one-third innings.
