The Garden City Community College baseball team dropped a 5-2 game to McCook (Neb.) on Tuesday at Williams Stadium.
A three-run seventh proved the difference for the Indians, and the Broncbusters (4-9) managed just four hits in the loss.
The game was tied at 1 entering the seventh. McCook put its first two men on base — on a throwing error by shortstop Tyler Alitz, and a single. TJ Clapper came in to relieve Josh Thomas, but loaded the bases on a bunt single. Grant Hindman got a one-out RBI single to make it 2-1, and Clapper walked Isaac Carrel for another run, and later threw a wild pitch, allowing the Indians to score their fourth run.
Garden City got one back in the bottom of the frame on a Zach Barton sacrifice fly that scored Mason Fischer, to make it 4-2.
The Indians added another run off Lane Hodnefield in the eighth, with Manny Menocal lacing a two-out triple down the right field line, and later scoring on Ryan Silva's bloop double.
Thomas (0-1) took the loss for his first decision of the season.
Garden City took a brief 1-0 lead in the third. Trevor Bell hit a one-out single and came all the way around to score on Rocky Desantis' single to center that was misplayed by the McCook center fielder for an error.
Mike DeHerrera drew a one-out walk in the fourth, and scored on Menocal's single to tie the game 1-1.
The Busters open Jayhawk Conference play when they host Hutchinson at 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday with doubleheaders slated each day.
