GC Boxing Club to host show Saturday

The Garden City Boxing Club is sponsoring "Tomorrow's Champions Today" on Saturday at the Garden City Recreation Center, 306 North Sixth St.

Approximately 20 bouts have been scheduled with teams coming from Kansas City, Greeley, Colo., Ulysses, Dodge City, Winfield, as well as Bad Boyz Club from Garden City.

Bouts are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. with doors opening at 5 o'clock. Tickets, which are $10 for adults, can be purchased in advance at MJ Barber Shop and City Kutz. Children ages 5 to 10 years will be admitted for $5 while children under age 5 are free. Herbert "Hurricane" Acevedo, the current Kansas State and Universal Boxing Federation Super Lightweight Champion, will be in attendance and will be available for meet and greet, and autographs.
