Woman taken to hospital after wreck

A Garden City woman was taken to the hospital Sunday night with possible injuries after the vehicle she was driving was struck from behind while stopped at a traffic light at Mary and Third streets in Garden City.

Gloria Perez, 37, was stopped at the traffic light in a 2003 Chevy Tahoe, when a 2006 Chevy Uplander driven by Myint Kyaw, 40, Garden City failed to stop and struck Perez's vehicle from behind, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log.

Perez was taken to St. Catherine Hospital with possible injuries. Kyaw was not injured.

Miguel Hernandez, 15, Richard Perez, 1, Anahi Perez, 3, Jason Hernandez, 11, all of Garden City and passengers in Gloria Perez's vehicle, were not injured.

Lien Uk, 27, Garden City, a passenger in Kyaw's vehicle, was not injured.

All of the occupants in the two vehicles were wearing their seat belts.
