Finney County man indicted

The U.S. Attorney General's office for the District of Kansas issued a press release Thursday that includes a federal indicment of a Finney County man.

According to the press release, Edward Garcia Jr., 31, is charged with one count of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of unlawful possession of ammunition after a felony conviction. The crimes are alleged to have occurred on March 13 in Finney County.

If convicted, Garcia faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000 on each count.

The Garden City Police Department investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Lind is prosecuting.
