Jan and Vern Kinderknecht, of Sheldon, Iowa and formerly of Garden City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kay Kinderknecht of Duluth, Minn., to Jon Launspach, also of Duluth. He is the son of Philip and Janice Launspach of Iowa City, Iowa.

Jan and Vern Kinderknecht, of Sheldon, Iowa and formerly of Garden City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kay Kinderknecht of Duluth, Minn., to Jon Launspach, also of Duluth. He is the son of Philip and Janice Launspach of Iowa City, Iowa.

The bride-to-be graduated from Sheldon High School in 2006 and from the University of Northern Iowa in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. She is employed as an accountant with Cargill.

Her fiancé graduated from Iowa City West in 2006 and from the University of Northern Iowa in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in geography and geology and a master's degree in geography. He is employed as a GIS analyst with SRA International at the EPA Lab in Duluth.

They plan to marry Aug. 30, 2014, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Duluth.
