Chris Stucky of Garden City and Shawna Marcotte of Wichita announce their engagement.

Parents are Chris and Regina Marcotte of Salina and Mike and Sherry Stucky of Ness City.

Shawna is the granddaughter of Eddie and Verena Haden of Clay Center, Alfred Marcotte of Morganville and the late Maxine Marcotte. Her fiancÃ© is the grandson of Gloria Marsh of Pratt, the late Don Marsh, Alma Stucky of Kingman and the late Clarence Stucky.

The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Salina Central High School, attended Garden City Community College and graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor of arts degree in social services. She is a social worker for St. Francis Community Services in Foster Care in Newton.

Marcotte and Stucky

Her fiancÃ© is a 1999 graduate of Ness City High School and graduated from Garden City Community College with an associate's degree in criminal justice. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and is employed as a patrol officer with the Garden City Police Department.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 18, 2010, in Garden City.
