Engagement: Bell-Gates

Gerald and Alissa Bell of Garden City announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Bell, to Tyler Gates. He is the son of Jerry and Kathy Gates of Garden City.

The bride-to-be graduated from Garden City High School in 2005 and earned a bachelor's degree in organizational management and leadership from Friend's University. She is a payroll clerk at Western State Bank.

Her fiancee graduated from Garden City High School in 2001, and earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Kansas and bachelor degrees in secondary education and business education from Fort Hays State University. He is employed by USD 457 at Garden City High School.

They plan to marry June 1, 2013, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City.
