Garden City police plan to conduct a driver's license checklane within the city limits between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.

During the check lane, officers will be stopping vehicles to verify driver's license status, and those found in violation of the driver's license ordinance will be cited and fined for no valid driver's license. Fines start at $200, in addition to $75 in court costs.

The check lane is a part of an ongoing effort by the Garden City Police Department to reduce the amount of drivers who are driving without a valid driver's license.
