SCOTT CITY — Donnie R. Geist, 66, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at Scott County Hospital, Scott City. Geist was born Sept. 19, 1947, in Garden City to Leland "Hap" Clarence and Lelia Louise Wade Geist.

SCOTT CITY — Donnie R. Geist, 66, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at Scott County Hospital, Scott City. Geist was born Sept. 19, 1947, in Garden City to Leland "Hap" Clarence and Lelia Louise Wade Geist.

He retired from Wheatland Electric Cooperative in 2009 after 30 years of being a lineman and warehouseman. He married Garee S. Hillery June 11, 1971, in Scott City. She survives.

Also surviving him are a son, L.J. Geist, Elk City, Okla.; three daughters, Kandie Calvert, Russell, Dawn Oberheim, Garden City, Jill Tanner, Wichita; two brothers, Frank Geist, Wichita, Steve Geist, Moore, Okla.; five Sisters, June Gullett, Hattieville, Ark., Lu Juana Baker, Garden City, Linda Foster, Kiowa, Cheryl Keyse, Scott City, Vickie Wheeler, Amarillo, Texas; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Bob, Gene, Jack, Randall, Larry and Mike Geist; and three sisters, Juanita, Marie and Sheila Geist.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Scott City. Interment will follow at the Scott County Cemetery, Scott City. Memorials may be made to Donnie R. Geist Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home in Scott City. There will be no calling times.
