Carolyn Vester

Carolyn K. Vester, 72, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.She was born July 30, 1940, in Nickerson, to Carl T. and Rosetta E. Hunt Mitzner.
She married Robert A. Vester on May 18, 1978, in Stafford. He survives.
Before moving to Garden City, Mrs. Vester raised two girls and ran the Buffet restaurant in Stafford. From 1987 until her retirement in 2002 she worked in the food service department at Terrace Garden Care Center and at Garden City Community College.
Other survivors include two daughters, Terri Lynn Gonzales of Mesa, Ariz., and Melissa Kay Mitzner-Williams of Lynnwood, Wash.; two brothers, Steve Mitzner of Sylvia, and David Mitzner of Garfield; four sisters, Twila Blew of Sylvia, Jolene Cook of South Hutchinson, LeAnn Runyan of Hutchinson and Donna Hearn of Stafford; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Carl Dean and Gary Mitzner.
Family graveside services will be held at the Sylvia Cemetery in Sylvia.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Catherine Hospice in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
