The postponed games for Garden City Community College's men's and women's basketball teams against Seward County from Wednesday to Monday were once again called off due to the winter storm that blew threw portions of southwest Kansas on Monday.

Despite no additional snow accumulation in Garden City, Liberal was pounded by several inches of snow and high wind that caused closings of several highways in the area.

Once again, the teams will try to play, this time tonight with the Busters' women set for a 6 p.m. tipoff at the Green House in Liberal while the men will follow at approximately 8 o'clock.

It will be the final regular season game for the GCCC teams as Region 6 play gets under way on Saturday with the Lady Busters hosting a 7 p.m. game and the men hitting the road. Neither team knows which opponent they will face on Saturday until Wednesday's regular season is completed.

Most high school sub-state first-round games also were postponed.

Only Wichita County and Stanton County's Class 2A sub-state opener in Johnson was contested with the host Trojans posting a 60-32 victory to advance to Thursday's semifinal which will be played at Elkhart.

The reschedule of many games forced Class 2A officials to move the remaining seven first-round games to one site at Sublette and all games were slated to be played today. Games will start at 4 p.m. with final games of the showcase tipping off at 8:30 p.m. Both gyms at Sublette will be used.

The Ingalls Class 1A-Division II sub-state delayed its two girls games to Wednesday with the boys slated to begin play today.

South Central's Class 1A-Division I sub-state, hosted at Coldwater, will not play first round games until Thursday with semifinal games all on Friday and the finals on Saturday.

Class 3A, which is being hosted by Southwestern Heights at Kismet, postponed all its Monday girls games to today and the boys first-round games will go as scheduled today. Girls semifinals will be played on Thursday with boys semis set for Friday.

In Class 4A, which will have Pratt as the host site later in the week. Ulysses' boys were to host Nickerson on Monday but that game will now be played Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Ulysses. The Lady Tigers travel to Pratt tonight. Hugoton's girls will host Goodland today at 7 p.m. while the Eagle boys are headed to Andale for a 6 o'clock game.

Class 6A's Garden City teams will host sub-state games on Wednesday and Thursday, with the boys playing Wichita South at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and the Lady Buffs hosting Dodge City at 7 p.m. Thursday.
